I offer a comprehensive range of professional translation services from English into French, my native language, including revision, post-editing of machine translation, localisation and proofreading of French texts. My services also include marketing-focused web copywriting to meet my clients’ one-off needs for new content.
Specialising in the environment, outdoor sports such as cycling, digital photography, yarn-based crafts (knitting and crochet), plant-based diets and veganism, and IT areas, as well as in institutional translation across a wide range of subjects, I guarantee accurate, natural, idiomatic translations that are perfectly tailored to the French market and your target audience.

Localisation
Price: from €0.25/word or €80/hour*
Whilst translation focuses on accuracy and linguistic fidelity, localisation also aims to ensure cultural relevance and impact on your target market. It may therefore require a radical reworking of the source text to adapt it to the French culture.
Localisation is a variation of traditional translation, which applies in particular to:
- direct marketing and multilingual website communications
- software
- mobile apps
- user interfaces
- internal company documents
- social media
- physical and printed materials
Localisation services are generally charged per source word and are subject to a prior quote.
* Hourly billing for transcreation, highly idiomatic marketing copy and slogans.
Document formatting
As the final, crucial step in the translation process, formatting the translated document ensures that it can be used immediately by the client upon delivery.
The documents I translate therefore retain the original layout of the client’s documents. I apply particular care to the presentation and formatting of all types of documents, thanks to my excellent command of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, as well as certain desktop publishing, image editing and vector graphics software for your logos, company brochures, flyers and more.
Document formatting is an integral part of my translation or localisation services, so there is no extra charge for it.

Technical translation FAQ
What is the difference between standard translation and localisation?
When I carry out a standard translation from English into French, I faithfully render your content whilst preserving the meaning, terminology and structure of your source text. This service is suitable for the following types of content:
- Technical documentation requiring terminological accuracy
- Formal institutional content
- Neutral informational texts
Localisation goes beyond simple linguistic translation. I adapt your content to the cultural norms, expectations and behaviours of the French audience. In practical terms:
- I replace British/American cultural references with relevant French equivalents
- I adapt examples, metaphors and idioms
- I adjust the tone (French marketing often differs from Anglo-Saxon marketing)
- I modify formats (dates, currencies, measurement units)
- I adapt calls to action to French conventions
- I revise visuals and descriptions where necessary
What is post-editing?
Post-editing (MTPE) involves correcting and improving a translation generated by an automated tool (DeepL, Google Translate, ChatGPT). It saves time when dealing with very large volumes whilst ensuring the final quality. My post-editing services are available exclusively to the translation agencies I work for.
What is the difference between revision and proofreading?
Bilingual revision compares the English source text with the French translation to ensure the quality of the final result (accuracy, fluency, consistency of terminology). Monolingual proofreading assesses only the quality of the French text (fluency, grammar, style). In this case, there is generally no English source version.
When should you opt for proofreading rather than revision?
Proofreading is carried out on a text written directly in French (no English source text). It corrects spelling, grammar and punctuation, and improves the style.
What is the difference between standard localisation and SEO localisation?
Standard localisation adapts your English content so that it resonates culturally with your French audience. Your message becomes natural, relevant and engaging for French-speaking readers. It is ideal for:
- Marketing materials intended for distribution via email or social media
- Sales presentations
- Brochures and leaflets
- Mobile apps
- Offline content
SEO localisation combines this cultural adaptation step with an optimisation strategy to improve the visibility of your content on search engines such as Google.fr. It is a localisation service that incorporates SEO.
This strategy includes:
- Research and integration of French keywords
- Optimisation of the SEO structure
- Adapting content to French search intent
